Man killed by tractor in Co Galway

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road accident in Co Galway last night.

The accident occurred at Kilkerrin, Ballinasloe at about 7.30pm when a pedestrian was struck by a tractor.

The victim, a middle-aged man, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Portiuncula hospital.

The driver of the tractor was arrested for suspected drink driving.
