DPP begin criminal proceedings against US minister
It has emerged that the Director of Public Prosecutions has begun criminal proceedings against an American Reverend who assisted in the suicide of a Dublin woman.
49-year-old Rosemary Toole was found dead in a flat in Donnybrook, Dublin in January 2002.
The Reverend, George Exoo, has admitted his role in the assisted suicide, having insisted that Ms Toole was suffering from a terminal illness.
However, Ms Toole's family dispute the Reverend's claim saying she was actually diagnosed with acute depression.
Gardaí are reportedly seeking to have Reverend Exoo extradited.
The inquest into the death of Ms Toole was adjourned yesterday.
