Strike train drivers considering new proposals
Iarnód Éireann has reportedly submitted new proposals aimed at resolving a dispute with six Westport-based train drivers.
The drivers engaged in two one-day stoppages last month, disrupting rail services in the west of the country, as part of a row over pay and rosters.
Reports this morning said Iarnód Éireann had submitted new proposals to the drivers and SIPTU, which represents four of them, was hopeful the proposals would be accepted.
The drivers are expected to respond to the initiative later today.
