Taoiseach under fire over funding for Kenmare leisure facility

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has come under fire in the Dáil for approving €750,000 in Government funding for a leisure facility in Kenmare that was built without proper planning permission.

Part of the facility was demolished last month because of its failure to comply with planning conditions.
