A major fire has broken out at the old courthouse in north Belfast, police said tonight.

A major fire has broken out at the old courthouse in north Belfast, police said tonight.

At least nine fire appliances were at the scene on the Crumlin Road.

Police at Tennent’s Street Station have closed off the road from Carlisle Circus to the Oldpark Road junction while the fire is being dealt with.

The former Crown Court is sited opposite the old Crumlin Road Prison, where many terrorist inmates were once held.
