Father begins hunger-strike protest in Mountjoy

A prisoner at Mountjoy jail in Dublin has gone on hunger strike in protest against his 60-day sentence for falling behind on maintenance payments to his ex-partner.

The father-of-two began his fast on Thursday.

The "Unmarried and Separated Fathers of Ireland" group is holding a vigil outside the prison in support.
