FSAI announces outlets ordered to close
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has announced details of its enforcement orders for January 2004.
During this period, three closure orders were served by Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) due to breaches of food safety legislation.
Closure orders were served by EHOs in the Northern Area Health Board on Thanh Cong Chinese Take Away, Clonshaugh Shopping Centre, Dublin 17 and on the Slavyanskaya Lavka Russian Delicatessen, Moore St, Dublin 1.
A closure order was also served by the East Coast Area Health Board on Thainese Take Away, Landscape Road, Churchtown, Dublin 14.
Closure orders are served when it is deemed, upon inspection, that there is, or is likely to be, a grave and immediate danger to public health.
"Consumers have to be confident that the food they are eating is prepared in a hygienic manner," said Peter Whelan, the director of service contracts at the FSAI.
