Cause of mudslide to be revealed today

A study into the cause of a mudslide at a bog in Derrybrien in Co Galway last year is expected to be made public today.

The report was carried out by Hibernian Wind Power, a subsidiary of the ESB, which is building a €60m wind farm on a mountain near the village.

Work on the project was suspended last year when residents claimed the bogslide was caused by construction work on the mountain side.
