Martin under attack over hospital death
The Minister for Health has been called on to consider his position following the death of a nine-year-old girl in Cavan two weeks after having her appendix removed at Cavan Hospital.
Fine Gael Cavan-Monaghan Deputy, Seymour Crawford, was one of three of his constituency colleagues to address Micheal Martin in the Dáil on the issue late last night.
He says the lack of progress on the consultant inquiry at Cavan General compounded by the closure of A&E at Monaghan Hospital means staff are under pressure and questions need to be asked.
