Dana wants EU funds to go west

Irish MEP Rosemary ‘Dana’ Scallon has called on the Government to invest more money in the west.

Ms Scallon said Ireland’s presidency of the EU gave the Government the perfect opportunity to commit to increased investment in the region.

She claimed only 10% of EU funds given to Ireland since it joined the EU had been invested in the west.
