Cutbacks in rent allowance come into effect

The Government’s cutbacks in rent allowance have come into effect today, despite widespread opposition from voluntary organisations.

More than 35 groups have formed an alliance to campaign against the cuts, which they said would leave vulnerable people at greater risk of becoming homeless.
