CKR stops broadcasting

The local radio station serving Carlow and Kildare has closed down. CKR FM stopped broadcasting at 3pm.

It followed the decision of the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland not to issue the station with a new licence in the re-drawn franchise areas of Co Kildare and Carlow / Kilkenny.
