125 new jobs announced for Castlebar

A British-based sales and customer care firm has announced plans to create 125 jobs in Castlebar after taking over the Knuxus call centre in the Co Mayo town.

Contact Partners said it planned to retain all of the 175 staff currently employed in the call centre and to hire a further 125 workers.

Knuxus was embroiled in controversy last month over a delay in paying workers their Christmas wages.

Meanwhile, Contact Partners also announced today that it was fast-tracking a recruitment drive in Shannon and had an immediate requirement for 105 workers in the Co Clare town.
