Five arrested after Clare sexual assault

Gardaí in Co Clare have arrested four teenagers and a man in his 20s in connection with a serious sexual assault in Cratloe Woods this morning.

Gardaí said a woman in her 30s was raped and her partner badly beaten in the early hours of this morning.

Four of those arrested in connection with the alleged incident are being held at Shannon Garda Station in Co Clare, while the fifth is being detained in at Henry Street in Limerick.
