Disabilities campaigners have expressed their disappointment with the actions of the Irish Government during the European Year of People with Disabilities, which draws to a close today.

Disabilities campaigners have expressed their disappointment with the actions of the Irish Government during the European Year of People with Disabilities, which draws to a close today.

The Forum for People with Disabilities said many disabled people in Ireland remained marginalised, despite the media attention raised by the Special Olympics.

It also said the Government had failed to introduce rights-based disabilities legislation.
