Ahern calls for dialogue in Aer Rianta dispute

The Taoiseach has said he strongly believes dialogue and consultation can resolve any dispute over change and reform with Aer Rianta workers.

Bertie Ahern has said the Government has given guarantees to the workers and believes negotiations should move on.

Mr Ahern has questioned the justification of Thursday s two-hour stoppage, which is being timed to disrupt the arrival of EU ministers.

The Taoiseach has said the action will not embarrass his Government, as airport strikes have been common in other countries that have held the EU Presidency.
