Marine minister targets eco-friendly fishing

Marine Minister Dermot Ahern has told the European Parliament’s fisheries committee that the development of environmentally friendly fishing methods will be his priority during Ireland’s presidency of the EU.

Mr Ahern said he hoped to develop new and sustainable fishing methods in an effort to prevent the decline of fish stocks in EU waters.
