Man questioned after massive drugs seizure

A 31-year-old man has been questioned by gardaí following a massive drug seizure in Co Laois.

Gardaí from the National Drugs Unit working with the Cork Regional Drugs Unit recovered 500,000 ecstasy tablets worth €5m in Mountrath.

The man was taken to Cork’s Anglesea garda station where he is being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

The seizure is part of an on-going operation into the sale and supply of ecstasy.
