Green Party slams approval for Cork incinerator
The Green Party has criticised An Bord Pleanála’s decision to approve the construction of a controversial toxic waste incinerator in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork.
Party spokesman Dan Boyle said the decision to overturn the local council’s rejection of planning permission was “questionable” and should be challenged in the courts.
“There’s no doubt that this is a questionable decision and the process involved in the making of the decision has to be subject to every legal avenue that’s open,” he said.
“I would be recommending to the residents and the campaigning groups to go down that road because I think every opportunity to prevent this toxic waste incinerator happening has to be made use of.”
