The German magazine Stern has accused European Parliament president Pat Cox of frequently using charter flights at the expense of European taxpayers, even though the legal basis for these flights is unclear.

The German magazine Stern has accused European Parliament president Pat Cox of frequently using charter flights at the expense of European taxpayers, even though the legal basis for these flights is unclear.

The magazine said the Irish politician chartered five private planes in 2003 and three the previous year to bring him from his home in Cork to eastern Europe.
