The number of 20- to 24-year-olds in full-time education has increased by 5% since 1996, according to census figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

The CSO said the 2002 census found that 20% of 20- to 24-year-olds were now in full-time education, while one-quarter of people aged over 15 had a third-level qualification.
