The Dutch multinational Philips has announced plans to lay off 150 workers at its European accountancy services centre in Dublin.

Staff at the facility in Leopardstown were told of the job losses this morning. The company said the lay-offs were necessary following a decision to move some of its Dublin operations to Poland. The remaining 300 jobs at the Philips centre are believed to be secure.
