Two arrested in Kildare forgery swoop

Kildare gardaí discovered an illegal operation to forge official documents such as passports and drivers licences during a raid on a house in Naas.

Officers from the Garda National Immigration Bureau seized blank Irish, British, Dutch, and Nigerian passports.

They also found blank Irish drivers licences in the search in the Elmwood Park area of the town.

Two women in their late twenties were arrested and taken for questioning at Naas garda station.

Retailers, banks and immigration officials are now being warned to be on the lookout for fake passports and drivers licences.
