DUP against GAA recieving state funding
A DUP Councillor has said he is opposed to state funding going to the GAA in the North.
The comments came after the GAA in Ballymena, Co Antrim, applied for a £3,000 grant to buy a new grass cutter.
Councillor Roy Gillespie is objecting to the grant, as he believes the Association discriminates against British industry.
Mr Gillespie claims the GAA’s rules oblige it to support Irish manufacturing while he has also complained about the flying of the Irish tricolour instead of the British flag at matches.
