A group of women opposed to the ongoing US/British occupation of Iraq held a vigil at Shannon Airport overnight to protest at the use of the airport by the US military.

The Global Women’s Strike organisation said it was also protesting against the Taoiseach’s recent vow to use Ireland’s presidency of the EU to improve relations between European leaders and the Bush administration.
