Trócaire donates extra €50,000 to Iran aid effort
The Irish aid agency Trócaire has allocated an extra €50,000 to help the survivors of last month’s devastating earthquake in Iran.
Trócaire has already given €100,000 to the Iranian Red Crescent, which is distributing food, water, blankets and tents to those left homeless by the quake.
The agency is also working with the Catholic Church to organise an aid convoy to Bam, the city worst-hit by the tremor.
30,000 of Bam’s residents died in the earthquake and tens of thousands more were left homeless or orphaned.
