Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who saw a man lying on the path on the Howth Road in Dublin yesterday.

The 48-year-old man was found at the junction on Fairview Crescent and Charlemont road at 3.15pm. He died later in hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for a man who was wearing motor cycling gear, and a 40-year-old woman who was with a young boy to contact them.

A post mortem examination will be carried out on the man later this evening.
