A man and a woman have been released without charge after being held for more than 24 hours over the murder of a man in Co Down on New Year's Day.

Four suspects, two women and two men, are still being held. All six were arrested yesterday but no-one has yet been charged.

Adrian Thompson's body was found at the back of a house shortly before 5am on Thursda, at Leamount Park in the Cline Road area of Banbridge.

Police believe the 29-year-old was beaten to death by a gang, possibly using spades.

Further arrests have not been ruled out.
