The Irish Red Cross is thanking the Irish Public for their generous donations following last week's earthquake in Iran.

The Irish Red Cross is thanking the public for their generous donations following last week's earthquake in Iran.

The chairman of the organisation, David Andrews, has met with the Iranian ambassador to express his condolences, and to thank him for his help in securing the safe release of Aidan Leahy.

Mr Andrews says Irish people have contributed greatly to helping rebuild the city of Bam.
