Roads deaths in 2003 lowest for 40 years

Deaths as a result of road accidents in 2003 are the lowest recorded in 40 years according to figures released by the Department of Transport.

Provisional figures for 2003 show a total of 341 people were killed on our roads in the past year, which is 35 less than in 2002.
