Teenager remanded on pensioner rape attempt
A teenager appeared in court in Belfast today accused of trying to rape an 80-year-old woman in her home.
Steven Paul Walsh, 19, was charged at Belfast Magistrates’ Court with attacking the pensioner at a house in East Belfast on December 27.
Walsh, of no fixed address, was also accused of entering the victim’s home as a trespasser with intent to rape.
Wearing a denim jacket and T-shirt, he shook his head as the alleged offences were read out.
A detective constable told the court Walsh had made no reply when charged.
The accused was remanded in custody to appear again via videolink on January 28.
