SV de P suggests warmth alternative

The St Vincent de Paul says elderly people would not need free thermometers if the Government had increased the fuel allowance for elderly people in the last budget.

The organisation was responding to the launch of a scheme by the Minister for Social Community and Family Affairs in which free thermometers are being distributed to old people to make them aware of the temperature and to avoid hypothermia.
