Archbishop appeals for information on ‘Disappeared’

The Catholic Archbishop of Armagh has appealed for those with information on the so called 'Disappeared' to come forward.

Dr Sean Brady is also calling on those behind the disappearance of a South Armagh man earlier this year, to provide information on his whereabouts.

It is believed Gareth O'Connor, who hasn’t been seen since last May, was abducted and murdered by the provisional IRA.

In his Christmas message, Dr Brady appealed for those with information on the Disappeared to pass it on to end the suffering of the families.

He said, with no news of what happened and no grave to visit, they "sometimes feel they’ve little or no support in their communities as people do not seem to care or are afraid to show they care.

"My hope is that, this Christmas, someone will remember something which could help to locate the bodies and if so, they could pass on that information."
