LRC to intervene in prison dispute

The Prison Service and the Prison Officers Association have agreed to enter talks under the auspices of the Labour Relation Commission in an effort to resolve their overtime dispute.

The talks are due to commence this afternoon.

The Prison Service wants prison officers to change their working conditions in an effort to reduce the multi-million euro annual overtime bill.
