The Minister for Justice Michael McDowell is expected to reveal significant details from the long-awaited Nally Report in the Dáil this evening.

The Minister for Justice Michael McDowell is expected to reveal significant details from the long-awaited Nally Report in the Dáil this evening.

The report, by Dermot Nally, a former government secretary, is looking at claims that the Gardaí failed to act on intelligence prior to the Omagh bomb in August 1998, and may even have been able to prevent the explosion.

It is understood that the report cannot be published as it contains information about the Real IRA which is part of an ongoing Garda investigation.
