Andrews discusses kidnapped tourist with Iranian Ambassador
David Andrews, the chair of the Irish Red Cross, has met the Iranian Ambassador to Ireland to discuss the kidnapping of an Irish tourist in the Islamic state earlier this month.
Aidan Leahy was abducted along with two German tourists while on a cycling tour in the province of
Sistan-Baluchestan, close to the border with Pakistan.
Their captors, believed to be drug smugglers, have reportedly demanded a €5m ransom for the
safe return of the three men.
