The umbrella organisation for disability groups says it plans to create a database of all the people in Ireland with disability.

It is estimated that there are currently 400,000 people in this country suffering from some form of disability.

Michael Ringrose, the chief executive of People with Disabilities in Ireland, says the database would enable the organisation to represent disabled people's interests better.
