The Revenue Commissioners are holding a series of meetings with executives from three Irish financial institutions as part of their investigations into tax evasion and offshore accounts.

The Minister for Finance, Charlie McCreevy, told the Dáil that the Revenue has penalised the financial institutions in question to the sum of €125m in back payments, interest and penalties.
