Justice Minister Michael McDowell has said today he does not agree with calls for gang-related court cases to be tried before the non-jury Special Criminal Court.

“I do not believe that, under our present Constitution, it would be possible for the Director of Public Prosecutions to make a categorical decision that all of those cases go before the Special Criminal Court,” he said.
