Gardaí seize firearms in Limerick

Gardaí in Limerick have recovered a number of firearms.

Detectives are describing the guns as high powered, lethal weapons.

Last Friday, two shotguns were found in the back garden of a house in Moyross.

Today, in a follow up operation, a pump action shotgun, a sawn off shotgun and a rifle, as well as an amount of ammunition were found in Rhebogue on the Dublin road.

Gardaí say the seizures are significant in their ongoing fight against organised crime in Limerick.
