A major rally has been organised in Co Tipperary today in protest at the Hanly report, which is the basis of the Government's proposed reform of the Health Service.

Doctors, public representatives and local people in Nenagh are concerned the report will pave the way for smaller hospitals to be downgraded. Some medical personnel believe the reforms could cost lives.

The march, which will take place at 2pm today, comes after Defence Minister and local TD, Michael Smith, criticised the Hanly report and said he would not support the downgrading of Nenagh Hospital.
