Minister announces compensation for Mayo landslide victims
The victims of the recent landslides in north Mayo are to receive €300,000 in compensation.
Minister of State Tom Parlon has announced that the Red Cross will distribute the money to people in the Pollathomas/Glengad area.
The criteria for eligibility will include the level of damage to homes and the hardship caused.
General Secretary of the Irish Red Cross, Carmel Dunne, says they expect to issue the cheques by the end of the week.
