Major improvement plans for Ireland’s rail services, including a 50% increase in passenger capacity on commuter routes, were announced today.

Opening a state-of-the-art €42m railcar depot in Drogheda, Minister for Transport Seamus Brennan said that in 2004, commuters would begin to reap the benefits of the huge investments that have been ploughed into the country’s rail services.
