Gardaí investigate Clare stabbing

Gardaí are following a definite line of inquiry into the stabbing of a 21-year-old man in Co Clare just before 11pm last night.

Gerrard McGrath was found on John's Street in Kilrush having sustained two wounds to the chest.

The 21-year-old is now in intensive care at Limerick Regional Hospital.

A search of the area is now underway in an effort to recover the weapon.
