Small rural garda stations may go

Small rural garda stations could be closed down as the Justice Minister Michael McDowell plans to "out source" garda administration work in the forth coming Garda Bill.

Processing fines, delivering summonses and signing passport applications are some of the day-to- day activities that could be taken away from gardaí to allow them to concentrate resources on fighting crime.
