Insurance companies are calling on the hospitality sector to contribute more towards the cost of road safety campaigns.

The insurance industry says it has spent more than €1.2m supporting the Christmas Anti-Drink Driving campaign, and other road safety measures this year.

Vice-President of the Irish Insurance Federation, Paul Donaldson, says the support the campaign received from the hospitality sector earlier this year should be built upon.
