DUP hoping to win six extra Assembly seats
The Democratic Unionist Party has predicted that it will win at least six extra seats in the Northern Assembly election later this month.
The party also predicted today that a DUP victory in the November 26 poll would spell the end of David Trimble’s leadership of the Ulster Unionist Party.
In yet another pre-election stunt designed to ridicule Mr Trimble, the DUP used a press conference this morning to present an "end-of-term" report on his leadership of the UUP.
DUP spokesman Sammy Wilson donned teacher’s garb before saying Mr Trimble was good at dividing his party and blowing his own trumpet.
Mr Wilson added that the UUP leader’s experiments were going badly wrong and he would get a good caning from the Northern electorate.
