Hospital action groups opposed to the Hanly Report on hospital reform are reportedly planning a State-wide campaign against proposals to centralise acute hospital services.

Hospital action groups opposed to the Hanly Report on hospital reform are reportedly planning a State-wide campaign against proposals to centralise acute hospital services.

The report apparently came in for strong criticism at a meeting of the Irish Association of Internal Medicine in Wexford on Saturday.

The Ennis Hospital Action Group also held a protest against the report's recommendations on Saturday and a similar protest is planned for Nenagh, Co Tipperary, on November 29.

The Ennis organisation said it had invited members of all hospital protest groups to attend a meeting after the Nenagh protest to discuss a State-wide campaign against the Hanly Report.
