Irishman held on US immigration charge

An Irish citizen once convicted of murder and being a member of the banned IRA was charged with lying about his past to immigration officials while trying to get into the US.

Donald Oliver Browne, 44, from Derry arrived in Boston on a British Airways flight from London on Thursday, federal authorities said.
