Primary school teachers defer planned strike action

The Irish National Teachers Organisation has deferred its plans to take strike action in protest at the Government’s failure to upgrade sub-standard primary school buildings.

The withdrawal of the strike threat follows the allocation of an extra €190m to help renovate decrepit school buildings.
